Refund, Cancellation and Payment-Failure Policy

Vidya Punters provides affordable digital educational resources for regional-language learners. We aim to handle genuine payment and access issues clearly, fairly, and responsibly.

1. Nature of the service

Vidya Punters subscriptions provide time-bound access to digital educational content and learning features.

Because access to digital content may be activated immediately after successful payment, subscriptions generally cannot be returned in the same manner as physical goods. However, we will fairly review genuine cases involving duplicate payments, failed activation, technical problems, or accidental purchases.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights available to a consumer under applicable Indian law.

2. Review before purchasing

Before completing payment, users should verify:

The final amount payable is shown before payment confirmation.

3. Cancellation of a subscription

A user may stop using the service at any time.

4. Cases eligible for refund or corrective assistance

4.1 Duplicate payment

The same user is charged more than once for the same subscription because of a payment-processing or technical error.

4.2 Payment completed but access not activated

Money is successfully debited and the payment is confirmed, but the purchased access is not activated within a reasonable period after the issue is reported.

4.3 Payment shown as successful but order not recorded

The payment gateway or bank confirms a successful payment, but the corresponding purchase cannot be located or fulfilled by Vidya Punters.

4.4 Accidental purchase of the wrong pack or language

Where a user unintentionally purchases the wrong learning pack or language application and contacts us promptly, we may offer correction, transfer, adjustment, account credit, or refund depending on eligibility and usage. Such requests should preferably be submitted within 48 hours of purchase and before substantial use.

4.5 Serious unresolved technical problem

A refund may be considered where the purchased service remains substantially unusable because of a verified Vidya Punters-side problem and usable access cannot be restored within a reasonable period.

4.6 Unauthorised purchase by a minor

A parent or lawful guardian who believes that a minor made a purchase without permission should contact us promptly, preferably within 48 hours. We will review the payment, account usage, access history, and surrounding circumstances before deciding the appropriate resolution.

4.7 Other exceptional circumstances

Vidya Punters may approve a refund, credit, extension, or alternative resolution in exceptional cases where doing so is fair and reasonable.

5. Circumstances normally not eligible for refund

A refund will ordinarily not be provided solely because:

Vidya Punters does not guarantee particular marks, ranks, admissions, examination outcomes, or employment results.

6. Fair-use assessment

Refund decisions may take account of the date of purchase, the date the issue was reported, whether access was activated, the extent of use, payment and bank records, previous corrective assistance, and evidence of misuse, account sharing, or fraud.

7. Failed, pending, or interrupted payments

A failed or interrupted payment does not by itself create a subscription.

Users should not repeatedly attempt payment without first checking whether the amount was debited, a payment confirmation was received, the subscription became active, or the transaction is still pending with the bank or payment provider.

Amount debited but payment marked failed or pending

Sometimes a bank or payment provider may temporarily debit or block an amount even though Vidya Punters has not received a successful payment confirmation. Such amounts are ordinarily reversed by the bank or payment provider according to their own processing timelines.

  1. Retain the transaction reference number.
  2. Take a screenshot of the bank or payment status where appropriate.
  3. Wait for the bank’s normal reversal period.
  4. Contact Vidya Punters if the amount is not reversed or the subscription is not activated.

Vidya Punters cannot treat an unconfirmed or failed transaction as a successful purchase unless reliable payment confirmation is received.

8. Payment successful but access missing

  1. Sign out and sign in again using the same account used for purchase.
  2. Verify that the correct language application and pack have been opened.
  3. Retain the payment ID, order ID, or bank transaction reference.
  4. Contact Vidya Punters support.

Users should not make another payment for the same pack unless the earlier amount is confirmed as reversed or they are specifically instructed to do so.

9. How to request assistance or a refund

Send the request to vidyapunters@gmail.com with the subject line Payment or Refund Request.

Include:

For security, Vidya Punters will never ask users to disclose their password, OTP, UPI PIN, CVV, or complete payment-card details.

10. Review and response

We aim to acknowledge payment and refund requests within two business days.

Some cases may require verification with the payment gateway, bank, account records, or technical logs. We will communicate if additional information is required.

Submitting a request does not automatically guarantee a refund. Each request will be assessed fairly under this policy and applicable law.

11. Refund method and processing period

An approved refund will ordinarily be returned through the original payment method.

Vidya Punters will normally initiate an approved refund within seven business days after approval. The bank, UPI provider, card issuer, or payment gateway may require additional time to credit the amount.

Transaction charges or deductions will not be imposed on a customer where the refund arises from duplicate charging, confirmed Vidya Punters technical failure, non-activation of a successfully paid subscription, or another error attributable to Vidya Punters.

12. Alternative resolutions

Where more helpful to the student, Vidya Punters may offer restoration of access, correction of the selected pack or language, transfer of access to an appropriate pack, extension of the subscription period, adjustment against an upgrade, or account credit.

An alternative resolution will not be imposed in place of a legally required refund.

13. Chargebacks and payment disputes

Users are encouraged to contact Vidya Punters before initiating a bank, card, or UPI dispute so that genuine technical or activation issues can be investigated quickly.

This does not prevent a consumer from exercising any lawful right to approach their bank, payment provider, consumer authority, or other competent forum.

Fraudulent chargebacks, false claims, or disputes raised after deliberate and substantial use of paid content may result in suspension of the related account while the matter is investigated.

14. Account suspension or termination

Where access is suspended or terminated because of verified fraud, unlawful conduct, unauthorised resale, content extraction, account sharing, or a serious violation of the Terms of Use, the user may not be eligible for a refund.

This does not affect any remedy available where Vidya Punters has acted incorrectly or where applicable law requires otherwise.

15. MSME and startup commitment

Vidya Punters is an Indian MSME and education-focused startup working to make academic English and subject learning more accessible to regional-language students.

Our MSME or startup status does not reduce our responsibility towards students, parents, or other customers. We aim to resolve genuine payment and access problems fairly while keeping our educational services affordable and sustainable.

16. Policy updates

This policy may be revised to reflect changes in services offered, payment methods, subscription arrangements, applicable laws, or operational requirements.

The version displayed at the time of purchase will ordinarily apply to that transaction, except where a later change is required by law or provides a more favourable remedy to the user.
